And We Will Fly

Things in P-town are going great. Being married is the best thing ever. Even better than I imagined. Our house is finally mostly put together how we want it, and we love our neighbors (except the ones that take up two parking spots... we still love them, but it is annoying). Midterms are coming around again, but they haven't been that bad this semester. I really love playing with O chem models in the testing center. It makes the test seem more like a game.

Next week is Homecoming Spectacular, which means that it is time to spend 12+ hours for mens chorus rehearsals and two performances. It is going to be a lot of fun doing our Pirates of Penzance "hoopla" (the codeword for fun, because "there is no fun in Mens Chorus").

An O chem Haiku

Don't stress on your test
If ye are prepared, no fears
It is just a game

Once unfamiliars
Wandered in the dark. Find each other—
Now friends.

The Dance

Sooooo... remember that girl.... we're getting married in a month. Sean is married... and thus, no posts for five months. We have been busy boys. Everything is paid for and ready. Now we just have to wait 33 days. I am truly in love and I can't wait to spend the rest of forever with Allie. So that is the update for the last few months. Here goes some haikus

Ups, downs, turning around
through the years we are dancing
that is what love is

viral infection
mononucleosis sucks
poor Allie is sick

Where are you?

I haven't posted in a bit. I am living the dream, and loving life. I am dating an awesome girl who makes me really happy. I will expound upon a later date.

Sean has been absent from the blog for slightly more baffling reasons. Upon talking to him he claims that it is because he has been trying to write a haiku. I gave him an example of a haiku I like... the last line is refrigerator. Here is what he wrote me in reply:

Roses are red,
ferrari's are too.
This is a poem,
but not a haiku!

We hope to hear more from him soon.

The beauty of all things

~Some Christmas haikus:

Snow falls gently down
Beautiful crystals of ice
Brightly lives then melts

Good friends and great joy
Surrounded by those we love
Mistletoe, kiss me!

A world united
Remember your redeemer
He died for us all

Where I belong

~We are proud to announce the addition of Sean Peterson to the team here at Life is a Haiku. We are expecting that he will raise the standard of writing here. He is currently in the process of writing a collection of short stories and a non fiction work about human relationships.

Here he is with his fiance Jennie

Time of the season

~Vacation is better than I could have imagined. I was expecting it to be overshadowed by jury duty, but at 8 this morning when I arrived to the courthouse and checked in the lady at the desk took my name and then told me, "Well, we're good for today. Thanks for coming, that will count for your jury duty." And I was summarily excused to leave. I got halfway down the hall before I realized I had forgotten something just as important as showing up and ran back in to the reception area, "Do I validate my parking here?" Now I am free to enjoy the rest of my vacation.

~My brother had his three wisdom teeth taken out this morning while I was at jury duty and then shopping. When he got home my mom sat him on the couch and turned around for a moment to get an ice pack. As soon as her eye was off of him he jumped up and tried to make a break for the door. We got him settled down and he has spent most of the day in a drug induced slumber, and I have sat next to him making sure he doesn't get any funny ideas.

~I'd forgotten what it is like to sit on a couch and eat junk food while watching Lord of the Rings. It has been so very long.
